Welcome to the Sleep Is a Skill podcast. My name is Mollie Eastman. I am the founder of Sleep Is a Skill, a company that optimizes sleep through technology, accountability, and behavioral change. As an ex-sleep sufferer turned sleep course creator, I am on a mission to transform the way the world thinks about sleep.

Each week, I'll be interviewing world-class experts ranging from researchers, doctors, innovators, and thought leaders to give actionable tips and strategies that you can implement to become a more skillful sleeper. Ultimately, I believe that living a circadian-aligned lifestyle is going to be one of the biggest trends in wellness, and I'm committed to keeping you up to date on all the things that you can do today to transform your circadian health and, by extension, allowing you to sleep and live better than ever before.

What if the root cause of your sleep struggles isn't what you've been told? Today, we're joined by Kim Rogers, a former healthcare professional who spent over 20 years in Western medicine before her own health crisis led her down a completely different path. After hitting rock bottom, she began exploring alternative approaches and uncovered what she believes are hidden drivers of illness, including parasites, mold, and toxins.

We talk about her journey from severe illness to recovery, how these factors may impact sleep, and the connection to insomnia, nighttime waking, and nervous system dysregulation. This is a perspective-shifting conversation that challenges conventional thinking. If you've tried everything and still struggle with sleep, tune in now and explore what might be happening beneath the surface.

And welcome to the Sleep Is a Skill podcast. Oh my goodness, there's gonna be a lot of very cool topics, I can already tell- ... with our guest today. So we decided we just needed to hit record because you know, you're gonna- Yeah ... be fascinated. So Kim Rogers, thank you so much for taking the time to be here.

Thanks for having me. I'm excited to talk with you.

Yeah, me too. Okay, and you also have coined, or next to your name is Worm Queen. Yeah. So how did that kind of terminology or expertise come to be? What's the background on all that?

Well, it comes from the state of Washington. That's where I, that's where I live.

It is. 'Cause before we hit record, we were talking about places to live, and saying my husband- Mm ... was interested in like checking out Washington, and sounds like Washington is a part of that tale. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. Love it. Yeah.

For sure. So, um, I actually was crowned a queen because of the fact that I sit and talk about this all day long.

So in like- 2019, my husband and I moved from Tacoma, Washington area. We owned a piece of recreational property in Hoodsport, Washington. That's where Mrs Rogers Hood comes from, which is my social media handles is that, um, my last name's Rogers, and we come... We were living in a city called Hoodsport, and we called it the hood.

So it was just kinda like I was getting into TikTok, and I was teaching people how to grow mushrooms and build a log home, 'cause we built our own log home with our bare hands out in Hoodsport. Cool. It was like eight... It's like 1,800 square feet. Mm. And so we were literally living in the woods. Yeah. Yeah.

Okay. Amazing. Before that, I actually come from western medicine. I'm a western medicine refugee is how I describe myself as a joke, because- Okay ... I have been in western medicine since 2004. I hold two healthcare degrees, and I ran 25 healthcare colleges. I was a professor, and I worked on medical advisory boards.

I authored medical books for education. So I really was in the thick of it for 20 years. It was a passion of mine. I love the human body. I think that, um, understanding it and understanding medications with it is just fascinating to me. So I think fast-forward to where I'm at now isn't too far of a stretch for me.

Fair. I think if someone had just gone viral like I had gone viral, and they were just someone general population, it might be kind of a strange thing. Mm-hmm. But I don't find this strange. I find this very fascinating, and I love talking about worms. I love talking about parasites and mold and environmental toxins.

Yeah. So I was very ill most of my life. Mm. Um, I had stage four endometriosis. I had 13 surgeries and a hysterectomy when I was 29, and I'm 47 now. Mm. So personally, my health was not in great shape, and professionally, I was very much into medicine. So cue to 2019 when my husband and I were trying to figure out what was wrong with me.

My body was slowly starting to shut down, and we could not figure out how and why. And so I had had my 13th surgery, and my doctors had said, "You cannot have any more surgeries, Kim." Like, "This is it. This is the way you're gonna have to live." So we packed our lives up, we sold everything, and we moved out to our recreational property to start figuring out what was wrong with me or to say goodbye to me.

Oh, it really was landing that- Yeah ... that arrow. Wow. Mm-hmm. Oh, man.

I can show you what I looked like. Yeah, please. It's kind of helpful for people to kind of see how sick I really was because it just gives people a better idea of how much you really can heal your body.

Oh my God, look at that difference.

Wow, amazing. Okay, and so in five years' time, so for anyone that's just listening, five years' time, wild before and after. Mm-hmm. Like, pretty unrecognizable.

Very much ill. Very inflamed. I had organs shutting down. I did not know what was wrong with me. I had stopped going poop for over a month, and it was very, um, uncomfortable.

My doctors just basically said, "This is just the way your life is gonna be." And I'm like, that's just not really how I envisioned my end of my life, right? Yeah. Because at this point, we had gotten ourselves in a position where my husband could build this log home. It was all paid, so we wouldn't have a mortgage, he wouldn't have any debt.

Mm-hmm. And he could just go work some normal job. Sure. That was kind of like my thought process when- Yeah ... all of this was happening. Yeah. So we started growing mushrooms, and we started really figuring out what was wrong with me as far as I got off my big pharma meds and I kind of, um, stopped dealing with the outside world because I needed to regulate my nervous system.

I needed to calm myself down 'cause I had been so intense Mm-hmm. Yeah, I get it ... for so many decades, you know? Yeah. Totally. So I was scrolling with a purpose in 2021. I don't- I love that. Yeah, I don't scroll, like, and watch TikToks or watch Instagram. I literally scroll to see what's going on in the world.

So I came across a gal's TikTok that said she almost unalived herself over worms. What? And it just stopped me in my tracks.

Oh my gosh, you're kidding. Okay. Mm-hmm. And that resonated for you immediately.

It did. I stopped and I thought... I mean, I thought I had worms a few years before, and my doctors told me there's no way.

I had some weird abnormal things going on in my body, and so I thought, I'm just gonna try what she's talking about. I'm just gonna grab it. It was, like, 30 bucks on Amazon, and at that point, $30 was everything. Yeah. 'Cause it's very expensive to be chronically ill.

Yeah.

And so I bought it, and within three days, I saw roundworm flukes and pinworms in the toilet, and I knew right then what was going on with me.

What? Okay. So it was a really immediate shift. And curious too, throughout all this, of course, this is the Sleep Is A Skill podcast, so so many of the listeners are- Mm-hmm ... struggling with their sleep, or maybe sleeping but have a sense that the quality of that sleep might not be where they're looking for it to be, et cetera.

Anything going on with your sleep throughout this? Oh, yeah.

I've had insomnia my whole life, and after that cleanse was the first time I actually slept through a night.

What? Okay. And there

was- When I say insomnia, it was days. And that, now I know that's actually a side effect- Mm ... of having a parasite, is because they're nocturnal creatures, so they're up all night.

They have you eating after 7:00 PM, 'cause that's their breakfast. Mm. And then they keep you up because they're up, and so they want you to be active. They wanna steal your energy, and we'll definitely talk more about that. Okay. But that's really a huge indication of why you have a parasite, and one of the symptoms, is that- Mm

you're, you're up all night, so you've really disrupted your rhythm and your homeostasis. And so they really thrive on that.

Oh, geez. Okay. And so then you said this had been a big portion of your life, so then- Mm-hmm ... we assume that what's likely is that you're dealing with these parasites for a long stretch of time, we think?

Oh, no, I know. We know. But I know now- Yeah ... because of all of this research. Yeah. So after I saw what I saw in the toilet, I immediately did a video, and that video went very viral. It had a million views in two hours. It shut my TikTok down. It shut... My phone overheated. And so for a few hours I was sitting there like, "Oh, my God, is this, like...

This is, like, crazy real."

Mm. And

so I opened it back up and I started reading the comments. And I mean, when I say that it was crazy, I had no idea what a big issue this truly is in life. And so I just started reading, and I started making videos, and I started just continuing to, to research exactly why I would have worms and what everyone was talking about.

'Cause Western medicine doesn't talk about this. This is not something that Western medicine deals with.

Sure. Mm-hmm. And what did you unearth or uncover unearth, so no pun intended with the worm piece. Mm-hmm. What did you uncover as to what you think maybe origins were, or is that not even the direction to go, just assume that most people have it?

Like, kinda getting a sense of the landscape of was this, like, an abnormality? Like, oh, I went traveling, you know, internationally and that's how I picked it up, or more like, listen, most people are dealing with something like this. What do we see there?

So I researched and found out that, you know, the CDC says only 60 million people have parasites in the United States, and that number is including people that have been tested and tested positive through an insurance-based lab.

Wow. My tests actually went to Mexico, and I used the same stool for the Mexico test as I did for the LabCorp test, and LabCorp came back negative and Mexico came back positive, and it said I had Cryptosporidium parvum, which makes total sense. Crypto, which is parvo, which kills puppies, is actually something that can shut organs down, so my inflammation had to do with parasites, mold, and I now know I have chronic Lyme.

That's how I know everything that's gone on, 'cause since all of this, I've actually researched my health and my mom and dad's health and done genetics, like, all the way back- Mm ... because of this. But, um- Yeah. So I've been down a wormhole for four years. Yes. Ah. And that's why I'm called the Worm Queen. Okay.

'Cause as soon as I started talking about this, as soon as I started really digging in and figuring out that our salmon has parasites, and if you eat sushi it has parasites, if you have pets... I, uh, I realized I had the same worms as my dog. Ooh. And so when I started really looking into the comments and started researching myself, this is very common.

It's just not common to us in Western medicine countries. It's very common to other countries like Mexico. Sure. They do deworming. Jamaica, they use a tea called the bush. Mm. Other countries know that this is an issue. We just happen to not think it's an issue here in Western medicine.

Okay. And so would you say, like, when you think of the people in the United States, is your estimation that many, many of the people likely listening are probably dealing with some sort of parasites, worms, that they might have no idea about?

Is that what you, you see, like, numbers-wise? And I know you called out, like, salmon, sushi. Are there certain, like, really obvious culprits like that, that we need to be aware of? Mm-hmm.

Eating anything raw, so raw produce, sushi, which is usually you get it raw. Get anything cooked. Uh, pork is a huge one. RFK Jr.

had neurocysticercosis, which is a tapeworm of the brain, and it ate some of his brain, and he came out public with that, and he got that from undercooked pork. You have undercooked beef. Animals have parasites. They're down in the dirt, so any time you're out there walking barefoot, you wanna be conscientious to only walk barefoot in a very clean space or clean that space with something like diatomaceous earth.

Make sure you're not grounding where your dog pooped or other animals p- have pooped. Mm. Um, you've got other type of parasites like toxoplasmosis gondii, which are in deer and other type of animals, the, any warm-blooded animals. Parasites are very common. Um, there's a definition of two types of parasites.

There is protozoas, which are microscopic parasites, and then you have nematodes, which are physical parasites like roundworm, tapeworm, f- hookworm, so physical worms that you can see. Parasite's definition is anything that feeds off a host, so anything that steals your energy, and they can steal up to 90% of our nutrients.

So if you look at it in a big picture of how they get into your body, and then they can lay dormant or they can cause issues, but when you don't have s- a medical professional that totally understands, you can create a chronic illness because of it, and that's really what was happening with me.

Wow. Okay.

So one, if someone's listening and thinking, "Oh, wow, this sounds like me. I, you know, love my sushi," or whatever- Mm-hmm ... you know, the raw, um, you know, tick, tick, tick, seeing for themselves that they feel like they could fit this profile. Where the heck do people begin? What are the steps that they should be imagining to take?

Well, if you, like we found it in our water. That was one of the ways we were getting it. So the first step is to definitely look at water filters. That's a really good place to begin to continue to keep yourself healthy. The next step is I recommend doing a parify parasite cleanse three to four times a year just to be proactive.

I don't talk about this as a fearmonger. I'm talking about this because of the fact that we really are exposed, and our environmental toxin buckets are just completely overloaded. Yeah. We are exposed to heavy metals, which weight down parasites. I had mold poisoning and didn't even know it. I was living in our travel trailer while we were building our log home, and unfortunately, it had mold.

So I had a combination of parasites and mold, and a f- and when I was, um, around 12 or 13, I got bit by a tick, and I've been misdiagnosed for decades for chronic Lyme, which these are all co-infections. So you have environmental toxins that are coming into our bodies that are creating a hospitable environment that we need to make inhospitable.

Mm. So to be proactive on those things, that's what really started me thinking about I have to create a kit because I have to show people how to cleanse. Like, I really feel that as a society in Western medicine, that is something we're missing. The wellness community, unfortunately, is missing the fact that we gotta clean our soil.

Mm-hmm. We can do all of these great things, but if we're not getting in there and cleaning out our soil, then we're really struggling, and we're not really doing all of these things in a manner that our bodies are absorbing them. So as I'm going through this journey of going viral, I mean, at one point, I had 40 to 50 million viewers a month on TikTok.

Wow. Oh my gosh. So I had tons of people talking with me. Yeah. And I mean, I learned a lo- I learned more on social media than I did in my two healthcare degrees.

Oh my go- That's amazing. Yeah. Okay. It's crazy Wow. Okay, so you felt then putting together something for people to start having this be more of a way of life potentially?

Like, is it something- Yes ... or is it a one and done, or is it more like how you said with Jamaica and some of these other places where it's just s- it's a part of the culture, you keep this sort of process alive? What do you see there?

Well, I created Roger's Hood, that's the name of my company, and it's three to four times a year minimum, right?

We're exposed daily. We really can use herbs to help flush our body out, so that's what I did. I realized in the midst of all of this that we need to be binding. We need to be removing heavy metals out of our bodies, which weigh down parasites. So as soon as you remove the heavy metals, the parasites are kinda just, like, free-flowing.

And then I also realized they're encased in a thing called biofilm. Mm. And so you gotta break that biofilm. There's so many steps to parasite cleansing and to heavy metal cleansing and mold cleansing that I just really, like, focused in on, okay, so I did a parasite cleanse, just the one tincture, and all these things happened to me.

But I didn't bind, I didn't remove heavy metals. It caused me to have candida. Candida is a parasite. It's an overgrowth of yeast. And so as I'm learning all of these things, I'm making notes of what I need to do to figure it out- Mm ... if I ever wanted to develop my own product. Mm. And what made me realize that I needed to was when I reached out to one of the companies and I said, "Hey, what is the natural ingredients that you have, in parentheses, and then why did you use caramel coloring when you're just soaking some herbs?"

And they came back to me and said, "I cannot disclose the natural ingredients- Mm ... and we use it for aesthetic purposes." And in that moment I realized, so you're not gonna be transparent with me. Yeah. And I want transparency. Like, I am trying to heal my body- Mm-hmm ... from multiple autoimmune disorders- Yeah

and, like, you are not telling me what I'm putting in it. Mm. So I need to stop what I'm doing. I need to figure out, we need a binder. Binding is so important when you're cleansing. It helps bind toxins and push them out of your body. Okay, so I also got candida from just doing the parasite cleanse, so I need to put an herb in there that has a candida, you know, s- candida frequency to it.

Sure. And so I just started to build from all the knowledge I was gaining, all the knowledge I was reading about, and so I started to build. And my first, um, kit was called, is called Parify, and it's with Roger's Hood, and we make it ourselves in our 10,000 square foot manufacturing facility that we built ourselves.

Mm. So in four years I started out dying in the woods to where I'm at now- Wow ... trying to teach people how to cleanse their bodies and how to understand how cleansing can help alleviate some of these chronic illnesses that we have going on.

Wow, what a turnaround. That's amazing. Okay. And I think there's one of the things we see too, is we learn a lot from each person that comes on, on how they're managing their own sleep.

Mm-hmm. So we always ask a few questions there, but before we get there, are there major things that we wanna leave the listener with of how to think about parasites, worms, just this whole topic in general as it relates to their sleep or any, any major things that we wanna make sure we leave them with?

Well, any time your daytime issues are disrupted, your sleep's gonna be disrupted. So a lot of people that will do the cleanse will feel so much better and they'll sleep better. Hmm. So I mean, I know this is all about sleep, but when you're feeling better during the day and you're cleaning toxins out of your body-

Yes

You're going to sleep better.

So I went from never sleeping to I now have the best sleep hygiene I've ever had in my life.

Ah.

I realized how important it is to, one, regulate your nervous system, and when you have a parasite, mold, or Lyme, they've hijacked your nervous system. They've hijacked your lymphatic system. They can get into your fascia, and all of those things will disrupt your sleep.

They will... It will not allow you to go into REM. It will keep you awake, and that's because they're wanting to stay awake. They want to disrupt you. They're a low frequency.

Mm. So

anything that you do during the day can disrupt your nighttime routine. Yeah. And so if I know you... Grinding your teeth is a symptom of having a parasite because it hijacks your nervous system, and it can absorb magnesium and calcium, and those are two vitamins that you need, two minerals that you need in your body in order for you to not grind your teeth and keep your nervous system at a, at a low where you're feeling better.

So drooling at night, and that's because they can live in our lymphatic system and cause us to have an overabundance of saliva in our mouths. Mm. And so when you're sleeping and you have these symptoms, you're thinking it's just stress, it's abnormal, and it's not. It's actually a s- a root cause of something else that's going in your body.

Right. Same with insomnia. If you're up all night long and you're eating all night, that is not normal. Yeah. So what is your root cause that's causing all of those issues to happen? And that's really what this is about, is trying to figure out what is your root cause. My root cause was parasites, mold, and Lyme.

Those root causes caused my body to almost shut completely down. Mm. And so it's really learning about what your root causes are.

Ah, wow. So good. So well said. We're so grateful that you're sharing this out for the masses and helping to educate, and then also, you know, transforming yourself- Mm-hmm ... and have transformed in such a visual and experiential way, so really fascinating.

Gives so many people so much hope. And so one of the things that we do is check and see how are people managing their own sleep- Mm-hmm ... with the area of expertise that they have and, you know, kinda coming out on the other side with their sleep, so really fantastic. And as we all keep continuing to test and try things.

So where would you say you're at with your evening routine right now?

Well, I definitely do, like, a whole face routine, which is very relaxing. So I start there in, at night. Love that. And then I make sure that my water is filtered and that I use a 6.0 when I wash my face. So I'll start washing my face.

Yeah. And then I usually will do some red light. I have a couple of different red lights that I do at nighttime to kind of help with my skin and boost collagen. Right. And I- Well, your skin's

glowing, so something's working. Oh. Yeah.

I mean, it's just, you know, it's really about the internal, right? It's really about what's going on internally in my body- Sure

that helps my skin externally. You, they say it takes around 30 days for whatever internally is going on to come out externally, and so I'm on a cleanse. I know I'm on a cleanse when my face- Oh ... starts to do these breakouts, 'cause that's- Okay. I would never have known that ... it's pushing something out.

Yeah.

So we're, like, actually happy about that, so yay. Yeah. I'm like,

okay, that's one less thing in my body.

Okay, good. That's all about perspective. That's fantastic. Good. Yay.

So I just, I just slowly start to wind down now, and then I've started doing mouth tape.

Sure. I

have a really awesome mouth tape called Queen Tape, and it has like a mouth ma- um, a, a lip mask inside of the mouth tape.

So you're kind of doing a biohack stack at the same time- Yeah ... that you're mouth taping so that you don't, like your lips will be plump and yeah. So I do that at night. Love that. Yeah. Um, I wear braces 'cause I have carpal tunnel, so I just, I just slowly start to get myself ready for bed and I try and get to bed around 11 or 12 at night, and I lay there and I don't get on my phone.

That is one thing that I've stopped doing the last few years- Sure ... is on my phone. I'm in front of all of these electronics all day long, so I really wanna give myself that electronic detox.

Yeah.

And I will do a binder at night to make my body continue to work while it's asleep. So binding is a really great way to pull toxins out of your body versus allowing them to reabsorb back into your body.

And the last thing I do is I listen to frequencies, and they have subliminal messages, and I turn that on and I put my phone inside of an EMF protector.

Sure.

And I listen to that so that I'm rewiring my brain while I'm asleep, and subconsciously allows my conscious to actually go in and push out what it was rewiring.

And then listening to frequencies calms my nervous system.

Oh, wow. And you've been doing that for a while now?

Yes, I've been doing that for five years. I have missed two nights in five years.

Wow. Okay. Mm-hmm. So and when you miss it, you feel the difference?

Absolutely. Absolutely. I listen to, um, pretty much the same one, but when I first started this journey, I had a mini stroke, uh, because I was getting off of big pharma so fast, and I got off of it too fast.

Oh. And so

I realized in the midst of this that you can listen to frequencies and subliminal messages to help heal your body. Mm. And so I started doing that around 2021, and I did it before just listening to them, but not really like being totally in it. Mm-hmm. And so I noticed how much faster I was healing, how much more cognitive skills I had when I would listen to it.

And when I paused at night and I w- I was just silence, I just really struggled the next day. And so I'm like, this is something I have to do every night.

Mm. Wow. Okay, amazing. Did you mention a brand or any, like a, anything that you use in particular? Like anything on Spotify or what have you where you get the frequency side of things?

I listen it to Minds of Unison on YouTube.

Oh, okay. Cool. And

then I just turn it on. It's around nine and a half hours, and then I just stick my phone inside of an EMF protection bag so then I don't get the EMF, but I have it next to me. Yeah. And I love them. They're the most, um, ethically, so when you're listening to subliminal messages, you gotta make sure who you're listening to- Yeah

is ethical, just because they can put anything in there, and there's been crazy horror stories of what has happened to people that have done subliminal messages. So I vetted Minds of Unison, and they're, they're my favorite.

Oh, cool. Mm-hmm. Very helpful. And then what might we see in your morning sleep routine with the idea that how we start our day can impact our sleep?

And I love what you said too about, you know, despite this being about sleep, it's so much about what we're doing by day- Mm-hmm ...

that

gives us our results with our night. So what might we see in your mornings?

My morning routine has changed a little bit over the last couple of weeks, because I don't want to get on my phone right away.

Yes, I know, the eternal- Oh, my God ... struggle. Yes.

Uh-huh. It's the worst, isn't it? Mm-hmm. And I run a business that is an e-commerce business, and our manufacturing facility is in Jonesboro, Arkansas, so I ha- they're two hours ahead of me. So when I wake up, they've already been doing this for probably three hours working.

Yeah. So I'll wake up and I gotta play catch-up, right? Mm-hmm. 'Cause I'm like, "Okay, what's going on for the day?" Yeah. And I don't wanna wake up and immediately be mad. Mm-hmm. 'Cause like there's, it's so busy when you run a business. I mean- Right ... people that have run a business, they totally understand. You wake up, and it's usually like hit the ground running.

Mm-hmm. So I have stopped that the last two weeks, and I feel a lot better by not doing that right away in the morning. Yeah. And my husband appreciates it too, 'cause I'll get up and he'll be like, "Oh, God, she's grabbing the phone."

So that's good when you have like partners in crime for kind of, you know, like, "Oh, this is the new plan," and then we can call each other out when we're deviating.

Yeah. Yeah, yeah. That's great. Okay. So now this is a newer initiative- Mm-hmm ... but you've seen the benefits and differences so far of kind of avoiding. How long are you avoiding the phone in the mornings?

I try and avoid it the first 30 minutes of the day. Sure. That's what I'm trying to do. Yeah. Um, I travel a lot too, so, um, I travel about every week- Mm-hmm

'cause I've been doing this for so many years now, and I do- Yeah ... virtual podcasts, but then I'll do in-person podcast as well. Yeah. And then I have my own podcast, so I'm trying to get on a good regulating schedule while- Gotcha ... and I'm traveling. And I find that if I, if I don't get right on my phone the first 30 minutes, my whole day is totally different- Oh

and in such a better space. Yeah. Um, so I'll wake up and I will go brush my teeth. I'll put my contacts in, and I still continue to keep listening to my frequency that's on my phone.

Oh, wow. So

I'll take it out of the EMF bag. Yeah. I have a stand that I put my phone on.

Oh. It's like an

office.

Oh, that's neat.

Yeah.

Yeah, well, they made it so you go like this, but I don't wear it like that. Okay, yeah. I just don't wanna hold it. Yeah. So I put that next to me while I'm getting ready, and I'm still listening to that calming frequency. Mm. And my husband, um, will make some matcha for me and some- Yeah ... caffeine, and I try and do that around 30 to 40 minutes after I get up.

Oh, okay, great. I've done things like that too with the stand, where it also feels- Mm-hmm ... like a little bit of divide, right? It's harder to just start going and reflexively doing all our things when it's, kinda has that home there. So love that. Yeah. Very cool. Okay, and then anything else we'd see in your morning routine that's noteworthy that you've seen makes a difference with sleep or circadian rhythm or anything there?

I'll do some cold shower. Okay. So I'm a big cold person. Yeah. I like to do cold plunges and cryo. So I currently will get all of that done. I'll pop in and look to see within the, with, after the 30 minutes, I'll pop in and see, make sure there's no major crises, and then I'll hop in the shower, and I'll take a nice cold shower for around three minutes.

So that's my current routine. Now, I know my routine is changing in the next couple of months because I'm moving, and I'm actually buying a cold plunge, and I just bought a sauna. And so I know when I wake up now going forward- Yeah ... after I've moved, that I'll be hopping in a cold plunge and doing a sauna, 'cause that makes me feel so much better, and it'll actually get me way more ready for the day.

Mm. I have a pretty busy life. Um, it's- Sure ... it's all day. Like, if I allowed it to be all day, all night, which I used to- Yeah ... when I first went viral and I first started doing this, I actually used to work until midnight, and then I would only get a few hours of sleep, wake up and do it again, and that is something that I tend to do all the time.

I actually used to work 80 hours a week, and I got my degree at night. Um, my second degree, I work- I went to college at nighttime 'cause it was a online degree. Mm. So I'm not wanting to do that again. Yeah. And so I'm, like, making sure- Good ... that I set those boundaries, and then I realized how important it is when I wake up to actually get into cold and get into warm and really rotate that lymphatic of my body.

Mm-hmm. It'll, oh, it opens up my whole day. Sure. If I wake up and I don't do a cold shower in the mornings, I can tell throughout the day that I am not going to have as good of a day if I don't get that lymph going. Um, I also will hop on my vibration plate in mid-morning. That allows my lymphatic system to keep moving because now I sit a lot during the day.

Sure. And then I also sit on a Therasage mat- Oh, sure ... which a PEMF, and it's got a little bit of warmth, and then it has red light as well.

Okay, great. So bringing in all the stacks, and that's exciting- Mm-hmm ... about the new cold plunge and sauna- Mm-hmm ... coming your way. So cool. Okay. And then what might we visually see on your nightstand or in your sleep environment?

Usually you'll see a battery. So I charge my phone with a battery. Okay. And then you'll see an EMF bag, 'cause I don't put anything next to me without it going into an EMF protection bag. I have EMF protection on my phone as well, but, like, I wanna be double down covered. Sure. And then usually mouth tape, my new mouth tape.

I was using just normal mouth tape.

Mm-hmm. And

then I came across TikTok. Man, TikTok shop- Oh ... has-

Everything. I mean, we're

working on getting on TikTok shop. We're almost there.

Oh, okay. So, yeah. All right. So we'll keep s- staying tuned for the ability- Mm-hmm ... to get that on there. Amazing. And then anything else in your environment to be aware of from a sleep perspective?

Well, I use a specific pillow. So I've always been very particular about my pillow. And so I use a, a Tempur-Pedic pillow. It's amazing. I love it. It's... I carry it. I travel with it. Oh, wow. I don't go anywhere without my pillow.

Oh my gosh. Okay. So it really must make the difference. Are you a side sleeper, back sleeper?

The pillow I have is both.

Okay.

So- So I'll do both ... it's

cool. Okay. So it's a, it's a must to- Yeah ... especially if you're, like, committed, especially for someone like you that travels so often. Clearly it's a big one. Okay. And then so far to date, what would you say has made the biggest change to the management of your sleep, or said another way, biggest aha moment in managing your sleep?

Doing the cleanse. Cleansing. Yeah.

Right?

Really it's important. It's really important because they really are up all night long. Mm-hmm. So I'll start to feel unworthy. I'll start to feel, like, insomnia. And as I'm reaching later and later in the nighttime throughout the week- Sure ... if I'm finding myself staying up later, I will do a mini cleanse.

I will pop in and I will do them like a supplement. I will do my kit like a supplement. Ooh. Because I don't want to be up all night. I don't want to r- Unregulate my nervous system to a point where I'm making my body hospitable for them to stay in it. Sure. I want it to be the most inhospitable it can be, and that does mean regulating your sleep.

Mm. Absolutely. Wow. Okay. And would you say that in your estimation it makes sense for just about everyone to, at some point in their lives, to- Mm-hmm ... go through this cleanse, whether mini, big, and beyond?

Yeah, you should. Sure. I mean, we're exposed all day. You know? We're, we really are in an environment where it's so toxic that we need to find ways to help our body.

You know, the organs are there to detoxify, but unfortunately, when they're also taxed, it's gonna be a struggle. And so if you're finding that you have insomnia, if you're finding that you're grinding your teeth at night and that you're drooling, and that when you drink some water you're bloated, and that you're eating all night and you're eating sugar, and you're, at 7:00 PM you're like, "Oh my God, I'm starving.

Why?"

Mm. Trying a

cleanse is not gonna hurt you. The way that I created it is synergistic. It helps just alleviate some of the, the pains that you might have from, you know, thinking that it's just aches, normal aches and pains. It's not always just normal aches and pains. Mm. So in the big picture of it all, doing something like a cleanse three to four times a year is not gonna hurt you.

And when other countries have stepped forward, specifically my comments, and think that we're kind of crazy because we don't do this and we don't think that we as a first world country- Yeah ... can have parasites, they really are thinking in there, like, "What is wrong with these people?" Mm-hmm. Well, we just thought we didn't, we couldn't get them.

But in reality, we're eating their food. We're eating Mexico's food, right? We get that food sent to us in the United States. We eat very similar, so... And I've tested our water. We talked about Washington. And, um, I've tested our water in Hoodsport, Washington and in Seattle, and both have come back positive for nematodes.

Which are physical worms.

Wow.

Yep.

And you're actually testing, can you imagine, in different parts of the United States what else we might see. You said that you felt like, and Washington might have some of the more pronounced, was that right? Yes. Okay. Yes. Yeah.

75% of our country's water is contaminated with nematodes.

Wow, I didn't know that. Mm-hmm. Oh, my- Yeah, we don't

test for nematodes in our country. We only test for protozoas, microscopic like giardia, and that's when there's a water break. That's why they tell you to boil your water when there's a water break.

Okay. Mm-hmm. Got it. And so you recommend kind of filtered water systems- Mm-hmm

or are there any kind of go-to that you have for how you get your kind of fresh water sources?

We have water filters. We have a whole house filter on our log home, and then we live in an apartment here, so we have a filter. We like Waterdrop. That's the name of the company. Okay. You can go on Amazon and buy, and it's a three-filter system that goes right underneath your sink.

Okay. And so you would hook up your water that way, and then it's a three filter. It also filters out, um, pharma- pharmacy, it, you know, it filters out heavy metals, it filters out parasites, bacteria, viruses that are found in our water.

Wow. Okay, great. So helpful. Okay, so in closing, was there anything that we missed or didn't hit on that you think is important from the huge topic, I know this is a huge topic, but worms, parasites, sleep, and beyond?

No, no. Okay. I think that people just need to work on their bodies during the day, and it will definitely help what their sleep habits are at night.

Oh, so good. Well, thank you so much for sharing your story and existing as this demonstration of what's possible- Mm-hmm ... and such an amazing transformation.

So if people are listening and saying, "I need to learn more about this or test this out or go on this cleanse," what are the steps that they can take to do that?

You can go to rodgershood.com, and we've got a kit that I like you to start with. It's called the lymph kit. It helps move your lymphatic system, and then you do that prior to the Parify parasite cleanse.

We include instructions. We hand s- we soak all of the, the tinctures ourself. We do everything ourselves, so we're very transparent. You can also find me on MrsRodgersHood. That's all of my handles on Instagram, on TikTok, and then my podcast is What's Eating You? with the letter U.

Oh my God, so good. Uh, well, thank you so much for the work you're doing, getting this information out, helping to make a difference for yourself and others.

And particularly, of course, in that world of sleep when sometimes it can just feel like this mystery for people. They're doing all the, you know, normal things- Mm-hmm ... and yet they're s- really struggling, and you're hitting on an important topic that, to your point, yeah, you're not gonna see in more mainstream approaches to sleep.

Mm-hmm. So really, really thank you and, you know, keep us posted too on, like, what's- Yeah ... developing. If, if all this has happened in four years, I can't imagine what's next. It's like- So

much in four years. So much.
